IPL Skin Rejuvenation FAQs

Below are the most commonly asked questions about IPL Laser Skin Rejuvenation.

Does IPL have any side effects?

Side effects of IPL are minor and include skin turning pink immediately after the procedure. A sensation of a mild sunburn (redness, peeling, swelling) that may last a few days after treatment.

Does IPL shrink pores?

An IPL Facial is an effective treatment that can help you to have smaller pores, smoother skin, and a younger and more vibrant appearance.

Does IPL help with wrinkles?

The IPL facial is an effective way to minimize enlarged pores, light wrinkles, and moderate sun damage. Laser skin resurfacing is used to deal with more serious skin problems, such as deep wrinkles, serious sun damage, and severe acne scarring.

Is IPL better than chemical peel?

IPL therapy is a skin rejuvenation process that uses intense pulses of light that penetrate deep into the skin. Chemical peels reveal younger, healthier, softer skin lying beneath the surface. They’re excellent combining both treatments for maximum results for treating acne scars, uneven skin pigmentation and fine lines. They also enhance collagen production.

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend 3-6 treatments this will be discussed in a complimentary consultation and skin test.

NOTE : Clients require a full consultation and Skin Patch Test before commencing any SHR IPL treatments.

Pigmentation Removal

IPL Pigmentation Removal FAQs

Below are the most commonly asked questions about IPL Laser Pigmentation Removal.

Is IPL or laser better for pigmentation?

Laser therapy is used to lighten dark pigmentation. IPL also lightens dark pigmentation and gives off less energy so is gentler than a laser treatment. With IPL treatments being gentler than laser treatments, they require less downtime.

What happens after IPL for pigmentation?

What to expect after IPL during the healing process: Redness lasts for two to five days. Bruising may last up to two weeks. Darkened age spots or freckles last for three to seven days.

How long does it take for dark spots to fade after IPL?

The most common (and expected) side effect is a darkening of the more superficial brown spots of the areas being treating. This darkening of superficial brown spots will flake off after about 7-14 days.

Does it hurt?

You will feel a slight sensation during the treatment, but the laser pulses are brief and can be timed for your level of comfort, and our extensively trained team will ensure you’re looked after throughout the process.

How long do the results last?

Results are long lasting but you will need to make sure you’re protecting your skin from further sun and environmental damage to prevent new spots and blemishes appearing.

Additionally, it’s important to note that while the laser treatment does have a significant impact on pigmentation, it doesn’t stop the natural ageing process – so new spots or age-related blemishes may still appear over time.

NOTE : Clients require a full consultation and Skin Patch Test before commencing any SHR IPL treatments.

Thread Vein Removal

IPL Thread Vein Removal FAQs

Below are the most commonly asked questions about IPL Thread Vein Removal.

Does laser thread vein removal work?

Laser treatment is a safe, effective way to banish thread veins. The light from the laser is directed at the veins causing them to heat up very quickly. This heat will cause the vein to break down and collapse in on itself which may present as some bruising on the skin’s surface.

Can facial thread veins be removed?

Yes, the IPL cosmetic procedure works effectively for thread vein removal in the face although sclerotherapy is more suited to the larger thread veins that appear elsewhere in the body.

How long does it take for thread veins to disappear after IPL treatment?

The results of laser treatment for thread veins are not immediate. After IPL therapy the vessels underneath the skin will gradually change from a dark blue to light red colour then eventually disappear in two to six weeks.

Can thread veins get worse after laser treatment?

The veins will look worse before they look better and this will take up to three months after the last treatment.

How many laser treatments does it take to remove broken capillaries?

You might need three to six treatments spaced a month apart, depending on the severity of the broken capillaries.

NOTE : Clients require a full consultation and Skin Patch Test before commencing any IPL treatments.
